I’ve lost count of the times I’ve cited Blake Baxter – Detroit’s original prince of sex techno – as one of the most startlingly original artists in dance music since he bust out in the late eighties and showed up as an early UR star before going on to spearhead porn-house while dropping the occasional classic like ‘One More Time’. His partnership with UK techno titan Trevor has been a marriage made in heaven before and now strikes again on the latter’s own label. This time Blake is exhorting the floor to ‘Relax, lay back’, but totally has the opposite effect as the groove pummels up a bootingly sensual level of euphoria. Three different mixes vary the deepness and there’s a welcome accapella. Absolute quality!
