The Aylesbury-based label has carved its own sound – a kind of lo-fi take on acid house and early Warp bleep workouts. Here, Neville Watson and Alex Martin whip out a simple analogue riff somewhat reminiscent of ’83 electro-boogie classic ‘Watch The Closing Doors’ mating with early Trax.Topped with pure techno strings and a smattering of intoning bloke, it works by virtue of its simple-but-deadly abilityto prod the rectum. ‘Get Carter’ is sparser still, heading off into deep early hours territory. Few frills but the all-round unassuming vibe and obvious passion of this operation makes it all the more thrilling.
