If you like dark, indie rock powered tech house then Nils Hoffman’s ‘Rivers’ will take you on a white water rapids ride through your daydreams and night fantasies. Its insistent beats pound your feet like a tendon tenderiser, the 80s throwback synths swirl around Chloe’s fragile vocal and a plaintiff guitar keeps the off-beat time in the background. Think Depeche Mode with a featherlight female touch. The Fat Sushi remix is calmer, looped affair with subdued yet uplifting synth horns at play, whilst the Matteo Luis remix is a sulky, stripped down bleep-off that will effortlessly keep the after party, heads down crew busy. ‘On Top Of A Mountain’ closes the package with a stomping, rat a tat synths-trumental that would fit beautifully into a late 80s Alan Parker film soundtrack. Solid tech house with a punk-indie attitude.
