SKEEWIFF
MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW
JALAPENO

Formerly known as “O Skeewiff Where Art Thou?” on their widely played “One Sample Short Of A Lawsuit” EP, its now gone all legit like, and is back for another grab at the pie.  Even subtly re-recorded, it still sounds like a testament to the creative possibilities of sampling, borrowing the George Clooney song from the “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” film and welding it to a funked-out, countrified breakbeat backing, resulting in the kind of broadband appeal that only happens by crazy chance.  Current wunderkids Kraak & Smaak give it a chill-pill, ears fixed firmly on the summer bar crowd (Ibiza or Manchester, whichever tickles your fancy), leaving D Ramirez free to take liberties and re-invent it in a post-acid house mania, replete with bleeps, vocoders, clunky synths and stompy drums. Naturally, its a summer essential for all self-respecting DJs, regardless of flavour.
