It’s not often we look to techno these days, blame old age and a bad domestic experience with an actual hoover making it all a little too difficult for us. That said the appearance of the track name ‘More Bugged Out Please’ on this release from one of the States’ most prolific engineers Phil Moffa, under his The Butcha guise, certainly grabbed our attention.
We’re not sure whether it was sweat filled nights in the old Courtyard of Nation Liverpool paying homage to Dave Clarke et al that directly inspired the naming of this warehouse rumbler, but that was exactly what we felt. Bugged Out’s Liverpool tenure is arguably our most formative rave experience and this wild acid groove captures that essence perfectly – even if the likelihood is Bugged Out is a more literal reference to the track. Either way you need this shit in your lives. The rest of the EP is good too, ‘202 Future’ one of those really dark and nasty deeper cuts and ‘Acid In The 1st Degree’ a particularly Ronseal like naming of an 808 explosion of a groove.
