In it’s original form ‘Walking Away’ sees The Egg draft in Zero 7’s Sophie Barker, laying down breathy vocals on a floaty track, with just a tad of angst. However there’s a couple of floor devastating beauties here, Tocadisco aka Trenetmoller is first on the agenda, getting a smoove electro house groove on the go and adding some nice ravey touches. The one that really does it for me though is Kiki’s remix, opening with delayed bring out your dead church bells, then in comes the 4/4 kick accompanied by atmospherics and distant vocals, developing into big pulsing banks of synths that twist and stretch the grey matter, making it quite simply the best druggy floor filler in ages.
