Jochem Paap better known as Speedy J is now about to unleash the fifth instalment of his’Collabs’ series. For ‘Collabs 401’ he’s pulled in one of France’s major production talents George Issakidis, as well as being one half of The Micronauts, George has remixed The Chemical Brothers, Death In Vegas & Underworld to name but a few, so as you can imagine, with these two giants working side by side, you know you’re in for a bit of a journey. ‘Overblaak’ on the A-side takes us back to the dark moments of early acid house, only itâs even druggier as you get locked in & spun out on aborted space station atmospherics. ‘Kaalbrevo’ on the flip takes a similar approach, adding fucked up distortion & reaching new inner depths. Oh well! That’s the new year’s resolution down the pan.
