Back To Mine with Life Is Better Blonde

Barefoot in the Park – James Blake

James Blake’s production always struck me as humble, effortless and intimate – listening to his music is like peering into his life.

Messy – Serpentwithfeet

Serpents vocal charisma and the minimal, tribal production is sheer magic.

Neither do I –   STWO

There’s miles of space between hits in the production, minimalism wins the day.

He – Jai Paul

When I heard Jai Paul was back this track ticked every box I could have hoped for in his comeback.

Nikes – Frank Ocean

Unmistakably Frank, and old one that I keep coming back to.

Frank Ocean - Nikes

Body Clock – Fortunes

Conor’s vocals are always on point, I never get sick of listening to these lads.

Real Truth – JETS feat Tkay Maizda

Production is tight on this one, and Tkay’s hooks are killer.

Underwaterfall – Bearcubs

Textural bliss wins the day.

Cellophane – FKA Twigs

My favourite track from FKA Twigs, hypnotic production that stays with you after the songs finished.

FKA twigs - cellophane

Don’t – Bryson Tiller

Oldie but a goodie, minimal and restrained all the way – plus a dash of Mariah.

Life Is Better Blonde

Life is Better Blonde unveils new aesthetic on latest single ‘Winter’ featuring Angus Dawson, releasing Xth XXmber. Enigmatic Melbourne producer LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE is poised to release his new single ‘WINTER’, a collaboration with Perth-based indie-electronica artist, ANGUS DAWSON.‘WINTER’ takes a significant departure from LIBB’s lo-fi, minimal R&B in favour of lush synths, tribal per-cussion, and a production finess in this collaborative effort with Dawson – complimented with a mix by Grammy nominated producer Andrei Eremin. Taken from his forthcoming EP due this summer, ‘Winter’ is a melding of layers upon layers of both LIBB and Dawson’s vocals, backed up by a dense layering of percussion, bells and lush synths. This track marksthe second collaboration from LIBB since his teaming-up with LUCIANBLOMKAMP on the drum-n-bass tinged ‘Distractions’. LIBB says ‘Winter’ is an “antagonistic note to self…the ways you try to force yourself out of a rut whilst being deliberately unhelpful.”Drawn to down tempo, lumbering kind of grooves, Life is Better Blonde’s music is inspired by sonic acci-dents, broken sounding things and old voice memos. His recent tracks, ‘Strange Organism’ and ‘My Godis Not Going To Like You’ is the first encounter between Life is Better Blonde and producer Andrei Eremin, whose previous credits include working with Grammy nominated Hiatus Kaiote and Chet Faker.Life is Better Blonde is the result of lost and discovered voice memos, late night musings and discarded production scraps. Taking cues from the likes of James Blake, Arthur Russell and Thundercat, the music isboth introverted and deeply personal, while displaying a grit common to glitch and electronica.Releasing his debut EP ‘Space + Tyres’ in 2017 through Majestic Casual, Life is Better Blonde created in-stant attention with air play on BBC 1 XTRA and Triple J, and online features with Clash Magazine, Indie Shuffle and Huffington Post among others. The 5-track EP also featured Triple J Awarding song, ‘Mine’.
