Their “This Is Tunng” album proved a surprise hit for many people when released last year, but really, when you consider the music, it’s not that much of a surprise. Tunng go about the business of creating odd yet sweet pop songs, dressed up in slightly used folk and electronica clothing, then given a certain twist of charm that resonates musical heritage. In true form, “Woodcat” is a love song, of a darker hue, the haunting story of a man who wants to join his girlfriend who’s had the misfortune to be turned into a hare after breaking some unspoken of village rule. And everybody has a lovely time, if you believe in the song’s chorus. There’s really no reason to doubt it.
