South London’s first class bass experimenters, Mala & Coki aka Digital Mystikz, drop a double package of dub-step turbulence for Soul Jazz, having already made a name for themselves via their own DMZ imprint, plus releases on Big Apple, Rephlex, and Tempa. Their style is cloaked in dub, drawing heavily from Jamaican Dancehall and dark techno in equal parts, twisting and teasing the core parts in infinite echo chambers tied to razor-like beats that can leave the unwary dazed and confused. These four tracks prove that bass is a pure and true science, and Digital Mystikz are amongst it’s finest perpetrators. Essential.
