LOCO DICE
SEEING THROUGH SHADOWS
MINUS

Loco’s ‘Green And Blues’ mix album with Ricardo Villabos was one of the highlights of last year, while the tracks he’s done with Martin Buttrich on labels like Ovum and Cocoon are atmospheric and deadly minimal rituals. Now, following his sublime ‘Orchidee’ on the ‘min2 MAX’ compilation, Loco releases his first Minus single – and it’s the expected killer. The title track sets up a pattering, juddering riff which is blasted by gauzy static and spacey efx. The half-time entry of bassline and hihat is a big moment in a big track. The flip’s ‘Backroom Melody’ is a scrapey, scrunchy swinger topped with bare, flutey riff and dub efx. Major talent ahoy!
