Aquasky return for the second installment of their Breakbeat Bass series, which sees them championing the sound of their label, Passenger. They’ve been at it a while now and they certainly work hard at keeping a constant stream of quality and diversity flowing from the label. They have been know for their association with the more heavier bass line breaks sound, but they have widened their appeal in the last couple of years and this album really showcases the breadth of styles being thrown down by Bournemouth’s best. This is the sound of all the DJs playing at a night condensed into one concise, sonic journey. There’s pumping electro, twisted tech funk, filthy dirty back alley bastard bass breaks, skanking dub breaks and progressive housey breaks. It’s all on here and shows just what a variety of sounds there are, even on one label in the breaks scene. Quality.
