Marco Bernadi is back as Octogen, impressing again with the kind of sophisticated, smoothed out and machined soul he’s displayed on labels like Emoticon and Clone. “CSide” is a lush synth-driven late night tune with perfect vocoder sounds and a general air of timeless nostalgia. It’s got that aura about it that makes it sound like it could have been released at any point in the past ten years. Osaka Ultras offers a dubbier and harder alternative that’ll serve the floors well, whilst Detroit’s Silicon excels with an electro revision that showcases the vocal to optimum effect. As a bonus, there’s the slightly more aggressive “Aceiob” to round things off in an acidic manner.
