Not for the Groove Junkies an after hours bout of horizontal listening – no, this particular shindig is all about picking up where you left off in the club. Hence we end up with some extremely groovy vocal house, with impressive mixing especially when running through from TC Moses’ ‘Free Your Mind’ to Hideo Kobayashi & Pheebo Dubfunk’s ‘Sahara’, adding extra percussion and brass stabs where appropriate. The Underground Ministries’ ‘I Shall Not Be Moved’ is a spiritual high thanks to vocalist Kenny Bobien, while the Junkies’ own ‘Music’s Gotcha Jumpin’ will raise a smile in 2007 guise. To crown this is the triumphant return of CeCe Peniston, remixed by Ron Carroll in the excellent ‘Feelin’ You’. An uplifting late night, this one.
