Few house DJs let their music breathe with such immediacy as Satoshi Tomiie, and the New York spinner once again kicks back for some spatial disco on this, his second outing for Renaissance. The first mix is ideally paced, taking its time to move between the tracks, with Jimpster and King Roc effortlessly cool and funky, while DJ Yellow & King Britt and Jim Rivers bring some welcome Balearic warmth. CD2 takes a bit longer to get going, its minimal textures of less interest until Lance De Sardi sets up a funkier approach. Meanwhile Guy Gerber and Shlomi Aber offer a toughness missing in the early section, setting the mix up for a strong finish. As ever with Tomiie, a strong effort – with CD1 worth the outlay on its own.
