The fifth outing on Soma’s warped little offshoot demonstrates again how they’re moving further out with each subsequent release. No idea who the Unknown Wanderer is but he likes Alex Smoke and it kind of shows in the doleful melodies and clanking percussion which flow through his original. Then who should come in for the remix but Mr Smoke himself, hoisting a groaning sound which can only resemble a constipated hippo after a 24 hour bottom battle on the can. The grove sparks and resonates before the Smoke magic conjures a typically-yearning string melody. One of his best reworks. Bonus track, ‘Living In Concrete Houses’ cooks up an alien juggernaut shuffle. Not only a label to watch but a new talent as well.
