Mark Barrott aka Future Loop Foundation, is using old tapes of family interviews on his new album ‘Memories From A Fading Room’, which will give it a kind of eerie and very personal touch. ‘The Sky And The Sea’ is the first cut to be unveiled, and it comes over a bit like Lemon Jelly without the comedy, as layers of string pads and piano soar over a funky groove, interspersed with passages of dialogue. This is misty eyed reminiscing at its uplifting but melancholic best. ‘The Sky And The Sea’ comes with 3 remixes, first up is man about town Ashley Beedle, who’s picked up on the tracks Balearic angle, and given it a double sunshine boost with a dose of smiley house. In contrast ‘TGâs Angry Trucker Mix’ & the ‘Padded Cell Remix’ tread an electro / techno path, perfect for those smokey basement in the early hours occasions. Cant wait to hear Future Loop Foundation’s ‘Memories From A Fading Room’, its due July 16th. Straight on the Ipod I reckon.
