After last year’s acclaimed ‘Orchestra Of Bubbles’ collaboration with Ellen Allien, Sascha Ring goes it alone with a vividly orchestrated album. Not only does he have a keen sense of colour with the instruments he uses – the opening marimba track Not A Number is evidence of that – he also blends in the techno-derived rhythms and vocals extremely well. Both parts of ‘Fractales’ make luminous late night music, while the four contributions from Raz Ohara complement his style, even sounding like Thom Yorke on ‘Over And Over’. A sonic treat.
