Mathew Dear makes a return appearance to bolster Minus’ current run of slinky minimal gold with a pair of insidious teabag-rustlers. ‘Fed On Youth’ rides a distant electronic panel-beating heartbeat sustained by a nagging morse-code message from the underworld while assorted clangs, dongs and screes fly past. ‘Face The Rain’ is a thick, intricately-constructed web of sound planted aboard a lowslung plod with bendy tabla action topped with a ringing bell motif. Overall the feeling is dark and atmospheric but it’s all quite jawdropping in its execution.
