Two CDs of electronica is a rough description of Shir Khan’s ‘Maximize’, but it doesn’t begin to hint at the electronic mayhem found between its covers. Both CDs are highly energetic party soundtracks, with capers aplenty in CD1 from Simian Mobile Disco and Justice (both remixed) before a storming cover of ‘Around The World’ from Nicky Van She and Dangerous Dan. The second CD proves just as manic, Hijack’s ‘Hijackin’, Busy P’s ‘Rainbow Man’ and Jammin’ Unit’s ‘Never Been On E’ all contributing to a raucous, sharp set of funky attitude. Not for a quiet night in, methinks!
