Marco has had an amazing year thanks to his Plus 8 and that debauched ‘R U
OK?’ outing. Now he puts the lid on it fair and square by starting his own
label called 2M because each release will be limited to 2,000 copies. The
maiden voyage is a no-holds-barred, floor-destroying monster, the old
simple-but-deadly approach used to devastating impact. Bass rules here as
the tribal-tinged groove kicks up, allowing this subterranean behemoth to
rear like a blue whale’s stiffie and pump the track as other low end
patterns nudge in and add to the carnage. Kind of reminds me of the early
90s when a good killer-churn would suffice to do the maximum damage. The
flip’s ‘Step by Step’ is more of a funky timebomb, sparser but still
voluminous down below and no less effective. Great stuff.
