The 3D approach is a good one, allowing the listener a real chance to get inside the chosen artist’s sound and styles. With Tom Middleton it works particularly well, the first CD offering up a warm Balearic house mix, with tracks from Shur-I-Khan & Milton Jackson, James Zabiela and Hipp-E making a particularly strong impression. The studio-bound second CD looks at his remixes of Kerri Chandler, Cosmos, Lamb and Francois Dubois, good sounds all. Finally the third CD mixes up some lovely ambience with Harmonic 33, System 7, Orbital and Alucidnation. For sheer value for money you can’t ask for more – and Middleton proves an involving subject.
