A splash of Balearic warmth comes to Soma’s ‘Sci-Fi Hi-Fi’ series courtesy of Funk D’Void, whose selections are characteristic of the full bodied yet occasionally mellow house he does so well. So it is with Itamar Sagi, Alex Moran and his own remix of Beroshima’s ‘Horizon’, casting a spell that Vector Lovers and H-Foundation only add to – two past Soma classics in ‘Melodies & Memory’ and the King Britt remix of ‘Tonight’. An onward sense of purpose runs throughout the mix, however, fully realised towards the end by Blakkat, Artec and the sharper lines of Vincenzo’s ‘Timeout’, a pumping cut with which to end another fine addition to ‘Sci-Fi’.
