Coast2Coast has kept an extremely high standard up until now, but in a rare mixing appearance on disc X-Press 2 have raised the bar to a previously untouched high. Both of these mixes are incredibly well put together, with a meticulous approach that smoothes over the joins but at the same time gives each track time to make its own impact. CD1 takes an early house tempo, and with Carl Craig’s remix of Johnny Blas’ ‘Picadillo’ is incredibly rhythmic, through Solid Groove’s remix of Blackjoy’s ‘Untitled’ to Mr Fingers’ ‘Stars’. The second mix includes the wonderfully weird ‘Lunatic Fringe’ of Stefan Goldman, the driving Ame remix of Etienne Jaumet’s ‘Repeat Again After Me’ and a couple of more chilled moments from Art Of Tones and Frankie Valentine. Taken as a whole, this pair of mixes is superb, and put together makes for two hours of dancefloor heaven.
