A packed mix from Detroit’s Robert Hood puts Fabric in sight of the big four zero, and it’s a set whose feet barely touch the ground as the music zips and bounces along. Hood has worked closely with Jeff Mills, and the two have a lot in common – setting a fast bpm, flying through the tracks with an increasingly irresistible momentum, yet structuring everything to ideal perspectives. In this case Hood uses his own tracks as good bookmarks, and adds live rhythm patterns to spice things up, alongside work from Mills, Diego, Pacou and John Thomas. Minimal techno this may be, but it has maximum impact
