Daniele Baldelli has an illustrious past as one of Italy’s disco lords in the 1970s and 1980s, and this is his collection of rarities from such luminaries as Martha and the Muffins, Thompson Twins, Positive Noise and Ray Parker Junior. The Muffins’ track ‘Danseparc (Every Day Is Tomorrow)’ has a bass that scrapes the floor, before the set speeds up and gets seriously groovy, through the lively strut of La Bionda’s ‘I Got Your Number’ and Torch Song’s ‘Prepare To Energize’. As the title indicates, it rocks too – providing you’re in the middle of the dancefloor! Something of a history lesson – but crucially one that allows a good dance throughout.
