Interchill compilations require no effort whatsoever to make their mark, and ‘Future Memories’ is no exception. With slowly moving patterns and beats, together with a smattering of dubby bass, these are tracks that drift in and out of the consciousness, but still provide plenty of musical substance. Perhaps the most substantial of these ten is Jeezlh’s ‘Solar Fields’, which has a majestic feel of almost orchestral dimensions. And while these are mostly instrumental sound pictures that drift by effortlessly, vocals are occasionally applied to good effect – as in Alyssah Palmer’s contribution to Phuture Primitive’s ‘Deeper’. Extreme ambience that always works its spell.
