If you can remember as far back as 1981/82 when Vol’s one and two of the Methods Of Dance compilations were first released then good for you. But for the rest of us this selection of 16 numbers defines one aspect of club culture from that, hard to categorise precisely, era of funky and often electronically infused music which sometimes was initiated by Punk Rock. Tracks from Devo, Human League and Magazine all sound as vibrant today alongside curiosities such as B.E.F’s instrumental ‘Groove Thang’ which later wound up as ‘We Don’t Need This (Fascist Groove Thang)’ with Glenn Gregory’s Heaven 17 vocal.
