I like Radio Slave. I’ve never been a disciple of everything they’ve ever done, and if I’m honest, I haven’t understood a fair amount of their work either, but all told I like Radio Slave. Yet there’s something about the sheer depth and breadth that they “cram” in to their epic productions that make them the leaders of the less-is-more ethos in my book. The relaunch of the ‘90s groundbreaking Belgium label also finds them release one of their best EPs… ever. Comparisons to Carl Craig on ‘Eyes Wide Open’ is fully justified – this trippy techno-etched number has all the hallmarks of the Detroit great, while ‘Incognito’ goes even further into mind, body and soul. A very welcome return.
