From Brazil here’s the second release on Audiofly’s new label, following Livio and Roby’s ‘Kalimera’ EP. Ale Reis and Joao Lee, aka Dubshape, are residents at Sao Paolo’s D-Edge and have already appeared on Germany’s 8Bit. This EP sees them thrust forth a trio of deep, intoxicating cuts led by ‘Different Elevations’ which plants odd vocal shadows over ghostly marimba-rattling groove. This track comes with subterranean remixes from Glimpse and Marc Peakay, who blows a hefty dub influence through the lining of its y-fronts. ‘Trick Sunshine’ invokes classic deep house elements over sturdy drum patterns while ‘Pieces’ is a moody night-stalker which burrows down to worm HQ, also effectively remixed by Sebastian Roya. Well worth a visit.
