Anyone trying to pronounce ‘Metawuffmischfelge’ at their record store counter is in for some strange looks, and may have to cover their face when asking. Best to ask for ‘that fantastically deep mix by the Wighnomy Brothers’, as this is a treat for those who like their house a bit darker and a bit more mellow. The brothers cleverly combine tracks together in the course of the mix, so that several layers sit on top of each other but still don’t sound too crowded – as in the fantastically chilled blend of Douglas Greed, Alka Rex, Robag Wruhme and Stefanik & Tasnadi. In truth not all the names here will be familiar, but that’s no reason to cast it aside – think Trentemoller mixed to perfection and you’ll be on the right track.
