Lifted from the forthcoming album “See Clear Now” and produced with pop savvy by Mark Ronson, “Cash In My Pocket” is set for anthem status and features the sweet and soulful tones of Daniel Merriweather, which work perfectly with Wiley’s cockney rhymes, as the pair bounce off each other “All I really want is money in my pocket, cash in my hand, squiller in my wallet”, over funky upbeat rhythms and a sizzling Hammond organ. That is gonna clean up big time this festive season. New York’s Chew Fu delivers a bass driven belter of a remix, keeping the cool old school vibes of the original and then taking them to another level, making sure all the hooks hit home. You never know, we might even have a quality Xmas No1 this year. Let’s hope so.
