John Tejada’s 20-track mix for Fabric is full of rhythm, energy and hooks aplenty. All of which sounds pretty obvious, but it’s all too easy to find a big floor techno mix where at least one of those three is missing. Yet by picking excellent tunes such as Dave Hughes’ ‘Let’s Do It’, two offerings from the Palette All-Stars and Tejada’s own collaborations with Arian Leviste and Justin Maxwell, he concentrates on the basics to really good effect. It’s a nippy mix – comfortably the right side of 130bpm – and with several edits by the DJ it runs almost seamlessly, captivating with its deep sounds and melodies.
