Ghetto Bass Mixed By Herve
Music Response

You won’t be able to sit still during this one. Herve is irresistible at the minute, and this double CD collection that majors on a surprisingly large repertoire of productions and remixes has it right on the knuckle. For no holds barred party action the first mix is best, tearing out of the block with fine Count remixes of N.A.S.A. and Project Bassline, not to mention pounding Herve remixes of Bloc Party and the Chemical Brothers. And that’s before Herve’s own side project with Trevor Loveys, Machines Don’t Care, muscle in on the act with their acidic basslines. CD2 starts bass heavy, rolling back to a classic with Darqwan’s ‘Said The Spider’, before taking in more of a dubstep vibe with Benga, The Count & Sinden’s ‘Hardcore Girls’ and TC’s rather ominous ‘Where’s My Money’. Darker, but still heavily essential.
