A century of releases for Berlin’s Shitkatapult label, celebrated a little surprisingly in two discs of largely ambient music. It’s high quality stuff though, and scores highly for its high quotient of previously unreleased material. So after some disconcerting rumbles from T.Raumschmiere CD1 settles down into blissful music from the likes of Thom Thiel and The Orb, with descriptive work from Felix (‘Outside On A Cold Day’) and Daniel Meteo (‘The Forest’). CD2 picks up in similar mood, with a few more vocals, but ends in a similarly relaxed state thanks to Peter Grummich, Anders Ilar and Bus. If you don’t mind a horizontal celebration of a label also noted for its noise, this will lead you into an enchanted world of music.
