The dreadlocked Sultan takes a distinctively global approach to his deep house music, but doesn’t do this at the expense of the overall mood. As the first disc of two drifts in the mood is deep and mellow, though the DJ knows just when to press the accelerator, finding a real high with the Behrouz track ‘Coming Home’. CD2 is a bit lighter and a bit faster, and it feels the funk more, before really sorting itself out with some heavier cuts from Chordian and Ned Shepard. On this evidence Sultan is a man with a distinctive personality that comes through in his house music, with an interesting array of vocals included above some seriously deep beats.
