The concept behind Elite Force’s ‘Re:Vamped’ was for Simon Shackleton himself to take components of older tunes and feed them through the blender, applying refixes and re-edits as appropriate – a kind of ‘mix of remixes’, if you get my drift! What he’s ended up with is a seamless but bruising journey through a wide section of big breaks, vocal clips and razor sharp basslines. Tracks like ‘Barbar Blaze’, where he brings in Palmer Brown’s line from ‘Do You Remember House’, are inspired, while the ‘Final Whistle’ combination of Popof, Delon & Daclan, Lee Coombs and Dylan Rhymes is a sonic blinder to start with. The energy generated by Elite Force’s musical thought and inspiration here is massive, and when played start to finish works an absolute treat.
