Boogybytes Vol. 5 Mixed By Seth Troxler
BPitch Control

This is a remarkable mix by Seth Troxler, fusing elements of house, electro, techno, funk and soul for something that is truly unique, progressing naturally and without any obvious signposting. He begins with the enjoyable minor domestic argument of The Royal We’s ‘Party Guilt’, establishing a steady house groove, but often moves off to the side as he does with the lazy trumpet of Baeka’s ‘Right At It’, or when he takes the mix down darker and harder territory, clearing the decks for some soul noir courtesy of Nicolas Jaar’s ‘Time For Us’. It demonstrates Troxler’s approach to mixing, which is both thoughtful and imaginative – and perfectly structured.
