Back To Mine with DISKORD

Hailing from Bristol, DISKORD have fast established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the bass music scene. The distinctive sound they have created is driven by a blend of strong melodies, unmistakable hooks and pristine production, while their ability to cross genres is second to none.

DISKORD’s latest is their debut for DJ Zinc’s Bingo Bass and comes in the form of SHOOK: a pummelling bass house cut set to devastate everything in its path.

Ahead of its release, we asked the guys to select 10 of their favourite Back To Mine cuts.

Daft Punk – Da Funk

You could pretty much play any classic daft punk song on repeat and keep a party going for 10-15 minutes. Life Pro Tip: hit loop when the acid line drops and you can go to the toilet and grab a drink on your way back.

Roy Ayers – Everyone Loves The Sunshine

Keep this one at the bottom of the playlist, for when the curtains are cracking and throwing beams of light through the smoke – the daytime session begins! James

roy ayers everybody loves the sunshine

Aphex Twin – Windowlicker

Probably the most danceable tune that good old Richard D. James has made, while still feeling like having your head chopped up and put in a blender then poured into an Aphex Twin mould. James

DISKORD – Last Time

Our go to DISKORD song when the random person the afterparty asks what kind of music we make!! Still an absolute percy, extremely proud of this one!

Drake – All Me

For me this is the most “I’m the king” song in Drake’s library, and 2chainz goes off! So many quotables you can turn the music down for 10 people to shout back at you! Issa banger.

Oxia – Domino

It baffles me that this is ten years old when i listen to it. Its about the most energetic, propulsive but also melancholy and beautiful techno/trance/house/trouse (or whatever made up genre you decide to lump it into) songs ever created in my opinion. Perfect for dancing for 10 minutes with your eyes shut and forgetting the world.

Heatwave – Boogie Nights

Obviously had to draw for some classic disco! It doesnt get more vibey than this smouldering Heatwave classic.

Claude von Stroke – Who’s Afraid of Detroit

This one is right up there with best of the best when it comes to electronic music for me. That lead melody still gets me everytime. This tune is proper 5am sleaze…love it!!

Jon Hopkins – Open Eye Signal

Still my fave tune from the magician Jon Hopkins. A proper eyes to the floor and zone out tune this one.

SBTRKT – Wildfire feat. Little Dragon

So simple but so effective and still sounding as fresh and original as the day it came out. Banger!!!
