The 1975 – Settle Down (Young Ruffian Remix)
This song literally changed my life – listening to it was what caused me to switch my alias and start a new path as Restless Modern. Be sure to play it somewhere you can hear bass (car, decent headphones, decent speakers).
EDEN – start//end
start//end is nothing short of a masterpiece. In an age where number one songs can be close to 2 minutes long, EDEN puts out a six minute journey that blows everything else out of the water.
Daughter – Medicine (Joji Remix)
Very cool remix with a great lo-fi feel. For when you want to just sit down and cry.
Hey Violet – Hoodie
Kind of embarrassed to say it, but I love this song. The whole concept of the boyfriend’s hoodie is incredibly trite, but the melody work here is exceptional in my mind.
Kasbo – World Away
Kasbo is one of my all-time favorite producers – World Away is an incredibly ethereal and innovative piece of music. The way everything swells in and out is fantastic.
Laszlo x WRLD – You & Me
This is a super nostalgic song for me. I used to listen to this on repeat in order to try and figure out how the hell someone gets such a full production sound. Still sounds great today.
G-Eazy – Everything Will Be OK (feat. Kehlani)
One of a few G-Eazy songs that I can really get into. The story behind this track is what makes it great; the dark production is super cool as well.
Crash Land – Crash Land
Great hybrid of hip-hop and electronic; the chorus melody is extremely well done.
Blackbear – Try Me
Blackbear is one of my favorite artists ever, and this was the cover that led me to him. I thought it was hilarious on first listen – the extremely rough lyrics from dej loaf’s original on top of acoustic guitars is crazy.
The Chainsmokers – All We Know (ft. Phoebe Ryan) (Virtual Riot Remix)
All the credit goes to Virtual Riot for being an exceptional producer and making this track interesting. The first drop is one of the best I’ve heard from him.
