“Take It” Dom Dollar
I’m all about the pre-parties, and my place is known for throwing the best. The best night’s out start in. Over to mine for pre-drinks and a warm up set from yours truly. This is one of my current favourite’s to play in my DJ sets.
“Imprint Of Pleasure” Tube & Berger
A classic from my dear friend’s Tube & Berger. I was obsessed with this tune from the first time I heard it at Tomorrowland, wasted in some little cave with my best mate. I didn’t know then I’d later go on to make so many records together with the guys. They are my musical Uncle’s and they’re the Kings of the dusty drum loops. (Go check our tracks “Ruckus” and “Disarray”)
“Want You In My Soul” Lovebirds
Before you hit the club, the drinks have kicked in and the Uber’s outside. You need to squeeze in that one last song that sets you up for an epic night. This is it.
“There There” Radiohead
A nod to my indie roots and one of my biggest inspirations. I grew up in bands, I was obsessed with Thom Yorke’s voice and his intensity on stage. I always aim to keep a little of this in my electronic music.
“You Never Give Me Your Money” The Beatles
For me, the best band that was and will ever be. No question. I can’t even begin to think of a favourite song of mine when it comes to The Beatles. I chose this one just because I was playing it on the piano this morning. There’s a Beatles record playing in my house almost daily.
“Slide Away” Oasis
The reason I picked up a guitar. Or the reason I begged my Parents to buy me one. I played it every day until my fingers bled. All I had was that first £50 guitar and an Oasis teach yourself songbook. I learnt every song from the first two albums and I can still sing you every single one of them.
“Lovesong” The Cure (Solomun Edit)
When the decks are off, but the after party’s still on. I turn to Solomun’s Boileroom set from Tulum for the wind down. Solomun for me is one of the best. The way he builds his DJ sets is a true art. When he drops the Cure in that set I lose my shit. My love of indie and electronic combining in true style. Biggup the King Solomun!
“Unforgettable” Nat King Cole
I can’t tell you how often Nat King Cole is played in my house. Every dinner party, every poker night.. nothing sets a mood quite like Nat King Cole. Go fetch the whiskey!
“Back To You” Richard Judge
My latest single, enough said. Go check it out!
“Howling” – Ry X / Frank Wiedermann
This will always be a special song for me. The first time I really heard my two musicals loves of indie rock and electronic come together with such true beauty and power. This really changed the game for me and made me feel like there was something truly unique in combining these styles. It was this that really inspired my electronic breakthrough track “Awake” with Sante.
His new single BACK TO YOU is out now…
