Back to Mine from Djale

Italian electro-pop project YEY join forces with Djale for a superb new package on Night Vibez. Chiara Cerchice leads the YEY group and in 2019 they released their acclaimed ‘More Cowbell’ LP, then followed it up with 2020 single ‘Russian Love’. Now Djale, aka Alessandro Sarsano, has reshaped three YEY tracks with an extended package that show off their various sounds. Now sit back and see what a genius Back To Mine sounds like…

TRACK 1 – EDDY GRANT – Living in the front line + front line symphony (1979)
A record that I discovered in 2007, the first time I played with the Ibiza legend Alfredo Fiorito, a record played in the center of the set, the reaction of the audience was incredible, I get goosebumps just thinking about that night! Initially the disc was divided in two, the vocal part on the A side and the symphonyl part on the B side, only later I find the ootleg that joined the two parts. An incredible record, different from the reagge records that came out at the end of the 70s. This record changed my way of choosing music in the record store and started me getting closer to what is the balearic beat.
Eddy Grant - Living On The Front Line + Front Line Symphony

TRACK 2 – NEW ORDER – Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone 12″ Remix) (1986)
This New Order track needs no introduction , one of the best remixes made by Shep Pettibone, where arpeggiator synth pads and percussion alternate, in a pressing way, a bomb for the dancefloor, both yesterday and today.
Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone 12" Remix)

TRACK 3 – JELLYBEAN BENITEZ – The Mexican (dance mix 1984)
An incredible mix made by Jellybean in the 1984, from Babe Ruth’s 1973 track The Mexican.A track that has ignited the streets of the b-boys and  the clubs all over the world.
The union of a purely Latin sound with electronic beats, subsequently taken up by Orange Lemon with his Dreams of Santa Anna.

TRACK 4 – INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND – Apache (1972)
In the 1972 “The incredible bongo band” reprises a 1960s hit by The Shadows Indelible , the beat of this record I think was a point of reference for many who  come from hip hop like me. From the same album, “Let There be Drums” also deserves a mention…super track!!!

TRACK 5 – NIGHT MOVES -Trancedance (UK Disco mix 1983)
1983, a very special year for music, you can clearly recognize the sound of one of the drum machines of the time, produced between 1980 and 1983. This record represents what was happening, a New Wave record, atmospheric and gloomy, still very current today.
Night Moves - Transdance (UK Disco Mix)

TRACK 6 – ERIK B & RAKIM – Paid in full (coldcut remix 1987)

I think this is a milestone in music, the beat is really powerful, the sample of “IM NIN ALU” by Ofra Haza made her famous in the eyes of the world.Eric B’s first scratches, Rakim’s rap, the vocal samples that go in and out of the track, make it varied, colorful and tireless

Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full (Coldcut Remix)

TRACK 7 – THE STONE ROSES – Fools Gold (extended version 1989)
The Stone Roses is a pure Britisch band formed in Manchester. Pressing beat, masterful bass, funk riffs that go in and out of percussion, just incredible. This record marked an era To mention the versions released in 1992 made by “A Guy Called Gerarld” (top won and bottom won remix).
The Stone Roses - Fools Gold (Remastered Version)

TRACK 8 – PRIMAL SCREAM – Loaded (1990)

Scotisch Rock band Primal Scream , produced this song in the 1990. “Loaded ” is the lead single of the “Screamadelica” Album. Three minutes later, a piano and an unmistakable guitar enter orchestral at the right point. Mixed and produced by the leggend Andrew Weatherall

Loaded - Primal Scream

TRACK 9 -THE SABRES OFF PARADISE-Smokebelch II (Beatless Mix) (1993)
Released in the 1993 , “Sabresonic” is the first album of “The Sabres of Paradise”, on Warp Records  I chose this beatless version, because I think it represents one of the most beautiful ambient tracks  the progression of the sound inputs makes it so that it is a continuous change, just perfect.
Smokebelch II (Beatless Mix)

TRACK 10 – JOY DIVISION – Love Will Tear Us Apart (1980)

Released in the 1980, absolute masterpiece. NO WORD!
