Faze Action – In The Trees – Nuphonic

One of the standout tracks of the time which really helped to reintroduce jazz funk & disco to a younger house orientated audience. Much of the house music relied on sampling old disco records, Faze Action did something original and contemporary.

Steely Dan – Kid Charlamagne – MCA

I think Steely Dan are one of the few bands that managed to strike that difficult balance of combining pop / rock sensibility with complex jazz arrangements.

The Jones Girls – Nights Over Egypt – Philadelphia International Records

One of the many great tracks written and arranged by Dexter Wansel with the MFSB Orchestra. It’s just an incredible record that still towers over much of 
what is being written today.

King Britt feat. Mark Bell – Romeo’s Fate – Six Degrees

For me this was the stand out track on the album, it’s a very sublime track.

One of my favourite Atjazz remixes which immediately draws you in. The whole thing just opens up when Omar’s vocal drops.

One of many stunning remixes from Jazzanova at this time.  I can recall the sound of my jaw physically hitting the floor when I first heard this.

Reel People feat. Vanessa Freeman – Rise & Fly – Papa Records

Rise & Fly is one of those ethereal records that immediately transports you from the now to a different place. Beautiful vocals, the positive message
and a breath taking arrangement.

Really like this track, trip hop vibe but with a modern updated production.  Very well written song from a great singer.  

Gary Moore vs Professor Stretch – Rhythm Of Our Lives (Gary’s Mix) – Virgin 

Gary Moore has always had a massive impact on me as a player. This very obscure DnB track really shows how versatile and adaptable he was as a musician.

10cc – I’m Not In Love – Mercury

For me this is pure just childhood nostalgia. How they created this with the studio technology available at the time is quite mind blowing.
