Fantastic piano paired with a bed made of nature. With this track I never forget how nice it is to lie by the sea.
DJ Sotofett – Current 82 (12 Mix)
Air is all we need or not. During these times, I often listen to the moments that made me cry.
T. Bachner, Biereige – Home Summer
Home listening is the new club listing. I was amazed at our world not only this summer. After almost 10 years, Home Summer is still an eternal track for me.
Mirko Loko – Tahktok (Ricardo Villalobos Hilery’s Chant Remix)
For me one of the best and most legendary tracks by Ricardo Villalobos. The mixure of modular sounds and analog elements are so exciting for me, that I always find something different. Sometimes it doesn’t take much and yet so much more. Minimal.
Model 500 – The Chase (Smooth Mix)
On a Sunday morning. Nov 2016 in Berlin.
Westbam & Nena – Oldschool Baby (Piano Mix)
I had so many wonderful morning hours with this track and always like to bring this warm feeling of unity back home. Oldschool doesn’t have to sound dusty.
Jacques Renault – Back To You (Paradis Remix)
A bad situation. A bottle of wine. A long night with you. Berlin-Kreuzberg (2017)
Dntel – Dream Of Evan And Chan (Superpitcher Kompakt Rmx)
For me one of the most beautiful tracks to end an intense after party. ‘I won’t let go, I won’t let go…’
Soul Capsule – Lady Science (NYC Sunrise)
A timeless anthem that has been with me since I’ve been listening to electronic music. It was often the soundtrack for moments, when it wasn’t going to work for me.
Matias Aguayo – Minimal (DJ Koze Mix)
There is also sun in the living room. You just have to let it into your heart… ok, or just drink a lot of Gin Basil Smash and dance to this track.
Joe Metzenmacher, Borka & The Gang – Get Red E.P (inc. S.A.M. remix) (Heideton Records)
Joe Metzenmacher and Borka (and his gang, obviously) return to the Heideton fold with more evocative track titles. ‘Get Red’ could mean so many things. It’s the most powerful of all colours. Football teams wearing red are more successful than those who don’t (they’re 10% more likely to score than teams in other colours). Red is frequently used by food brands because it seduces inner cravings. Red conjures up so many possibilities from Communism and the Bolsheviks to bank overdrafts and Marilyn Monroe’s ruby-red lips. There’s red with embarrassment, red with desire, red lipstick, red hearts, red cross, red alert (and DJ Red Alert), red-handed, red herring, but perhaps more pertinently here, there’s red hot, which this latest Heideton release most surely is. Joe, Borka (and the gang) open proceedings with a proper dancefloor banger that recalls the halcyon days of arguably Germany’s first great exponent of deep house, Plastic City’s Terry Lee Brown Jr. whose releases were killing 1990s floors in New York and elsewhere. ‘Get Red’ has a similar forceful drive, aided by an arpeggiated synth line and DJ Pierre-style strings, it motors forward as though its late for an appointment (perhaps it is, who knows?). Meanwhile, the extremely perky remix delivered by S.A.M. takes ‘Get Red’ off into a slightly jauntier direction, with its faint echoes of the work of Robin ‘Jaydee’ Albers, it moves forward in a determined manner that suggests it won’t be swayed from reaching its intended destination.
