Back To Mine with Weska

Jackboys – GANG GANG [Epic Records / Cactus Jack

I’m a huge Travis Scott fan and I love the new EP he’s put out with his label mates. ‘Gang Gang’ is such a tune. The production is so catchy and good (nice one Mike Dean) and I love how unique this song is. Really pushing the game for this style of Hip-Hop.

Tame Impala – The Slow Rush (Album) [Modular Recordings Pty Ltd]

I love everything Kevin touches but this album I was looking forward to for a long time and it’s really been my go to soundtrack for chilling at home, cooking, commuting. I basically put it on everywhere and would definitely put it on for guests at my house. I couldn’t choose a favourite song, so just put down the whole album!

Khruangbin & Leon Bridges – Midnight [Dead Ocean / Columbia Records]

These are both two incredible artists so this collab is really special. It’s so relaxing and I love the way it was recorded / treated. The elements sound so live and soft and organic. The entire EP is great, and it was also hard to choose just one of these.

Tycho – Easy [Mom+Pop / Ninja Tune]

I’ve been a fan off Tycho for a while – he’s got his own sound and it’s so inspiring. He’s also a wizard at so many instruments and his ability to create such captivating and unique but smooth melodies is amazing. Those guitars, wow.

Peter Schilling – Major Tom [WEA Records / Warner Music Germany]

Such a classic for me! I remember my dad showing me this when I was really young, and I love putting it on and dancing around my house. Hard to listen to just once and a crowd pleaser for sure!

Surfing – Hit The Spot [Airlines]

I love the smooth washed 80’s vibe the track has, from the vocals to the reverb on the drums! Great tune I like to chill out to, super great in the morning with a coffee.

Washed Out – New Theory [Washed Out]

Another great example of an artist I can really relate to and kick back and listen to full albums of straight through. He really does have this “washed” out sound, and it’s some of my favourite chill out music for sure. Or on a road trip in the car. It’s great everywhere.

Electric Octopus – Moments [Electric Octopus]

I stumbled across these guys last summer it’s also great music for kicking it doing emails or just having a drink and vibing out to. They’re a jam band, and they just record what they jam out, so it’s even more magical when something really sticks out. Very cool.

Pulshar – Abby [AvantRoots]

The chord progressions really resonate with me in this one and it’s a nice one for those slow mornings or rainy days. Soft synths and that light kick / clap combo make it so easy to listen to.

Premiere: Pulshar - Abby [Avantroots Records]

Durante – Maia [Openers]

Such a hypnotic riff he’s managed to make with a guitar or a guitar sounding synth. It’s always moving up and down, but it keeps you feeling chill and hooked to it. Very nice
