It’s always great to dive into the mind of an artist for a Back To Mine when they are releasing their own material. Creative juices are flowing and we always get amazing choices. This time we are treated to two wonderful set of tracks as Deft (Sherelle’s Hooversound Recordings/2020LDN) and Lewis James (Exit Records/Astrophonica) come together on Deft’s own ‘B4 Music’ imprint. “Bass, Footwork, DnB, Hip Hop and Beats coming together to create an amalgamation of styles never executed in this way before” screams the label. And who are we to argue…
Deft Back To Mine 5
Nosaj Thing – Pressure PointsThis is Nosaj’s latest solo EP since 2016 or so. Pressure Points is hypnotic & transcendental.
Actress – CrushedThe classic lowkey afterhours track for me, was hard to pick between this and Hubble. I could listen to this on repeat forever – a perfect loop track!
Vegyn – Debold (Mk.gee Remix V7)Vegyn is by far one of the best producers to come for a while, I think his music is a really good representation of a specific generation in electronic music (similar world as JPEG, Ouri, Mk.gee, Smerz). This track is a heart melter.
Overmono – VerbosaA real journey – I much prefer when Overmono go down this route on their tracks as they know how to capture a mood and feeling really well. Ominous but alluring.
Flying Lotus – Tea Leaf DancersNo words needed for this one.

Leon Vynehall – Midnight On Rainbow RoadI only discovered this guy’s music about three months ago (!) This is a masterclass in restraint, so effortless.
No Moon – Infinite DreamzThis is somehow a banger and really laid back at the same time, really uplifting too.Really love all No Moon’s music.
James Shinra – DaydreammBeautiful journey this one.
Aphex Twin – Analogue BubblebathA guaranteed smash every time at an afters haha….
Om Unit – Acid Dub StudiesTo be fair – this is a whole album, but it’s also the one. I’ve had this on loop since it came out.
