Introduced to Ableton Live at 13 years old, Chandler Sinclair was an early starter on the electronic music production scene (especially living in North Carolina). Fast forward 10 years and now he’s producing his own tracks and supporting artists like Elderbrook, LUCATI, Westend, Autograf, and more. As he joins forces with NV on the new single ‘WANT U’ for Kolme Records, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Chandler Sinclair.
Kashif – I Just Gotta Have You (Lover Turn Me On)
This record has a grooving bassline, soulful vocals and an incredibly catchy chorus. Is there really anything else you can ask for? I love throwing this one on during a night-drive.
Daft Punk – Make Love
A very vibey Daft Punk track, this list just wouldn’t be complete without one. Make Love has a very subtle groove accompanied with some beautiful piano chords. Some may say this is one of the more underrated Daft Punk tracks. It’s just one of those tracks you could throw on late at night or early in the morning with a cup of coffee.
Hot Natured – Benediction
This song just strikes a certain vibe that not many have been able to strike for me. It literally never gets old, it truly is a timeless track. I love playing this one at the beach or out on a boat.
Sade – Spirit
Rarely do I purchase a record for the A side & the B side ends up being just as good if not better. I purchased a Smooth Operator Promotional 45 and this track came on the B-side. It’s not on any streaming platforms, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s my favourite Sade song.
Bobby Caldwell – Love Won’t Wait
I purchased this record because it was heart-shaped, red, and because it had “What You Won’t Do For Love” on the A-side. It ended up having a very impressive B-side that I immediately fell in love with.
Foster The People – Waste
The Torches Album by Foster the People came out in 2013, the same year I got Ableton. There are many great tracks on this album, most notably “Pumped Up Kicks”, but I always loved Waste. Waste didn’t garner the attention that many of the other tracks on the album did, especially because there was no music video for it like Houdini, but that never steered me away from it. The version I have of this is the orange vinyl 10 year anniversary Torches Album.
Mall Grab – Spirit Wave
This track really just highlights the “less is more” vibe that I love about Dance music. This is a great one to throw on before going out to get the energy up and also a great track to close a set out with. Mall Grab has a certain aura around him that you just can’t help but love.
Jamie Jones – My Paradise
Jamie Jones is truly a legend and a huge inspiration for me. I genuinely do wish more labels were like Defected and continued to have great releases and also put them out on vinyl. This track is great to play during the summertime, especially near a body of water.
Roberto Surace – Joys
This track will always hold a special place for me because it really re-ignited my love for house music. I began to slip away and was listening to more mainstream music, but once I heard this track I fell right back down the rabbit hole. Once again, I have to give a big up to Defected for this one.
Todd Edwards – Time To Care
Todd Edwards has a massive catalog of great music. Once you really dive into his work you’ll listen to “Face to Face” by Daft Punk and realize how much Todd Edwards flavor was there. I could go on and talk about how crazy it is that a bedroom producer from New Jersey invented UK Garage, but I’ll let you go learn about that on your own. Time to Care has those skippy drums and vocal cuts we all love from Todd the God.
Chandler Sinclair & NV ‘WANT U’ EP is out now on Kolme Records.
