Belgian producer on the rise, Samm, has a distinctive style characterized by infectious beats, seamless transitions and melodic and deep workings. His original productions have already caught the attention of epic names including musical don Solomun with what many tipped as their track-of-the-year, ‘Does It Matter’. Blending seamlessly together afro-house and indoctrinating melodic strains of dance music, he has also received support from names including Adriatique, CamelPhat, Keinemusik, Themba and more. With the birth of Magnifik, his new record label and community in collaboration with his fellow music lover Ajna, Samm is on his way to become one of today’s most sought-after DJ/ producers. As his new single with Ajna, ‘Move’, lands on When Stars Align, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine With Samm.
Fish Go Deep & Tracey K -The Cure & The Cause (Dennis Ferrer Remix)
Dennis Ferrer’s vision on this was pure magic. The continuous conga loop in it makes it so recognizable from the beginning to the end. Closed a lot of sets with this.
Eyerer & Namito – Reel Thing
For me was all about the bassline and indie drums but somehow this combined together it’s very bouncy.
Everything But The Girl – Missing (Todd Terry Remix)
The whole story about this project is so nice and the fact my parents played this the whole time when I was a little boy. I still love to play this when the lights go on in the club.
Angie Stone – Wish I Didn’t Miss You
One of my all time favourite tracks, not only on the dance floor but also in life.
Oxia – Domino
I think every dj has this one on their usb. One of the biggest ones when I started dj’ing myself. Search when it’s released and then you know how long i’m dj’ing already. Still love to randomly throw this on from time to time.
Guano Apes – Open Your Eyes
Open your eyes. There is something about this one that caught my attention every time I heard it on the dancefloor. The vocals that come at the end are making it 100% and the simple piano riff is doing the job as well. Belgian classic for sure, might release a new version of it soon.
Sis – Nesrib
Sis was the first one for me who really got me into minimal productions. I love the groove in this one.
Black Coffee feat. Bucie – Turn Me On
Black Coffee really nailed it with ‘Turn Me On’. The Rhodes loop and vocals are really fun to listen to and I still play this one in my sets a lot. Ladies love it!
Matthew Herbert – It’s Only (DJ Koze Remix)
A bit more darker vibe but what a production. Dj Koze is always a good way to go!
Gaelle – Give It Back (Putsch 79 ‘Lectro Remix)
Ultimate track me for a closer, It was one of my first vinyls I ever bought. To those who have this also, that are the real og’s. The bassline is still fresh , love it.
Anna, Samm ‘Move’ is out now on When Stars Align.
