Back To Mine With Tamara Kezz

Tamara Kezz is an amazing live talent as well as producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ. This year she became the first artist from her country to play Glastonbury Festival. Their paths crossed this year where she was then invited to play at EXIT’s dance arena, opening the night for Monolink, Satori, Stephan Bodzin and ARTBAT. As her new single, ‘Go For It!’, drops on EXIT Soundscape, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Tamara Kezz.

Future Beat Alliance – Million Miles Away

I still can’t believe that this song was recorded about 20 years ago. It really makes me feel like I’m Million Miles Away, traveling through time, driven by pure emotion.

Lala Kovačev – Emina

I played this piece early in the morning after All Night Long parties at the Boat 20/44 club. Lala Kovačev was the pioneer of mixing jazz with traditional Balkan melodies before “world music”. Born in my hometown Kikinda, he is still the leading light.

Rex Ilusivii – Annex 1

The whole record is really meant for contemplation. It’s so immersive that you can’t do anything else while you’re listening to it. Once again one of the pioneers, in incorporating traditional sounds into electronic music. Thanks to DJ Vladimir Ivković and the Offen label, this music is available to us on vinyl.

Kuba Sojka – Forgotten Places

The reverse synth line sounds like the unwinding of thoughts and reminds me of something we don’t even know we’ve forgotten.

Alex Theory – Voodoo Dub

This track made me fall in love with dub. It’s just perfect for after parties.

Mathew Jonson – Into the 5D

Definitely one of my favorite tracks of the year. I love its versatility, at home it sounds mellow, but I also heard it when Mathew played it live in a club and it was like a real energetic teleportation into the 5D.

Unknown – Baby Baby Please

One of the most awesome mashups I ever heard, with a completely new vision of the classic “Don’t leave me this way” by Thelma Houston, mixed with Laurie Anderson – O Superman (M.Giordani Disco Spacer Mix).

Odracir – Neu

Although I must confess that it sounds so much better on vinyl, I still adore the contrast in textures and rhythms. It’s in the “Wish I had written this” folder.

Novak – Rapunzel

Some bands just show up and wow you with a song or two and then disappear. Novak is my favorite example of this phenomenon.

Ichisan – Metamundus

One of my favorite Slovenian producers. Most of the previous tracks are emotional, so for the end I chose this one with a happy twist, which is a must during the after hours.
