Buzz Chart Awards 2014 – Spada

The clubs, the producers, the labels…the music

Tune of 2014

Kiesza – Hideway
For me it’s the track of the year simply because she introduces us a new way of singing with her syncopates ad-libs, breaking the way of the “old” Lana Del Rey’s trend in 2013. Musically it’s a good house beat but the vocals are simply the must of the year. So strange to see that they didn’t get a release of remixes in more music styles. Maybe it’s just on board.

Festival of 2014

Burning Man
I saw so many people posting pics about it and so I realized it’s the new festival trend of the year, like Tomorrowland in the past two years.

DJ of 2014

Thomas Jack
Absolutely because he invented the term “Tropical House” in his podcasts, which is the trend of deep house and pop music in 2014 and 2015 I guess. And it is also the same music style of mine right now. I saw so many tracks played by him becoming hits months later.

Producer of 2014

Robin Schulz
Because of the remixes of Waves, Shyer and Prayer in C. I never found a producer so solid like him in this recent period of house music.

Rising Star of 2014

Kygo
He got 1 million followers in less then one year. I remember when I found him on Soundcloud he only had 20.000 followers several months ago. Now he is showing us the next level of Avicii’s sounds and of EDM music.

Label of 2014

Hysterical
I’m growing up with this label and I am happy to see that the deep house trend is now following the same style of my first releases on Hysterical 1 year ago.

Club of 2014

Buddha Bar
For me the atmosphere in a club is the most important thing and they know this since so many years.

Best Podcast / Radio Show of 2014

Above and Beyond ABGT 100
Absolutely, because they got a great exposure with the streaming on big radios like BBC 1 and with their live at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Happy to see they also played my remix of ZHU – Faded.

Remix of 2014

Lykke Li – ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ (Joris Voorn Remix)
Joris and Robin are the best producers / remixers of the past year, but the original vocals by Lykke Li make the final result even more appealing.
